New Features Highlights in Jajuk 1.9
(Much) Better table/tree synchronization
- The sync can be controlled independently on each table or tree view (thanks to the new sync toggle button at the top of each tree or table view).
- Even playlists are managed : selecting a playlist in the playlist view expand the Files tree view accordingly.
- The sync state of each view is saved between sessions.
- The old "table/tree sync" option no more exist (in menu bar or Preferences view).
- New "collapse all" button in trees
Repeat all feature
New mode : repeat all tag current queue to repeat globaly when played. Simple repeat mode tags only current played track to be repeated.
We also re-introduced the Continue mode toggle button directly into the command panel (in 1.8, it was only available from Modes menu).
New patterns
- Pattern for balloon display
- Pattern for information panel (lower part of the main window)
New notfication system
- Notifications can now be configurated in the preferences view
- Three modes : no notification, toast (new mode) or systray balloon
Extra tags : it is now possible to see any tag type from jajuk
- Jajuk supports now all tags supported by our tag library jAudiotagger
Read covers from tags
If a cover is stored in your music file, Jajuk can display this cover now. You can also set a tag cover as the default cover for the whole album.
Donation feature
- a donation window is added to the help menu, to make it easier for users to support Jajuk
Prepare Party reworked
"Prepare party" is functionality to export sets of music to an external location for playing outside of Jajuk. This feature was fully rewritten for 1.9 and is now much more powerful. It is also suitable for exporting parts of the collection for playing on MP3 players. Some features are specifically geared towards more limited devices, e.g. by limiting the chosen media types to only one media format if the MP3 player can not cope with other formats.
- You can choose from many different sources, among them Ambiences, DJs, Playlists, New files, BestOf, Queue:
- You have many options for limiting the amount of data as well as converting the music files to other formats
- And finally you can choose where to put the files:
The functionality is available as part of the "Tools" menu and in the Playlist View, where it opens with the current playlist pre-selected.

Brand new fullscreen player mode
New Artist view
- This view displays artist biography and album thumbs (data from Last.FM)
Cover view enhancements
- Covers are now displayed in a cool 3d look
- Covers could be stored windows explorer friendly as "Folder.*"
- Default Cover name for cover search could be edited
Graphical interface enhancements
- The main controls (player buttons, search area...) have been reorganized for a better user experience
- Tables columns layout is now stored between Jajuk sessions
- In suggestion view, the tab choice is now stored between Jajuk sessions
- An option has been added in Preferences view to disable the systray
DBUS support
- (Under Linux only) Jajuk can now be controlled using D-Bus
Engine enhancements
- Queue does not drop played tracks anymore and other queue behavior enhancements
- The repeat mode has been totally reviewed and behaves now similar to other audio players
- Tag album artist and disc number are now supported
- New karaoke mode (available from the Modes top menu)
- Audio normalization can be set or unset from preferences view
- New Push next feature (push the selection just after the track currently playing)
Other enhancements
- Internet access from Jajuk (covers, Last.FM...) can now be totally disabled
- It is now possible to open system file explorer (like Windows Explorer under MS Windows for instance) from the files tree view on directories.

New Features Highlights in Jajuk 1.5
New view in Album perspective: Album Table View
- Popup support with albums details
- Album filtering
New tool: Find duplicate tracks
- Get rid of duplicate audio files from your system using this new feature.
- Select this option from Menu, Tools, Find duplicate tracks or from the right click menu on Collection node in Files tree & Tracks tree views.
New tool: Alarm Clock
- This is a cool new feature which allows you set alarms to start or stop Jajuk player at a set time.
- Select this option from Menu, Tools, Set New Alarm.
- You will see a popup window like above, where you can set the "Time", "Action" (Start/Stop), "Alarm Message" and the audio file that you would like to play at the set alarm time.
- At the set time, Jajuk will automatically (Start/ Stop) playing and also display the set "Alarm Message".
- You may also stop a set Alarm from Menu, Tools, Show Set Alarms.
New tool: Prepare party
- Allows user to quickly copy all files related to a playlist into an external devices (like a player or an USB stick)
- Select "New" from the "Physical Playlist" view. Drag and drop files into the playlist that you would like to copy to an external device. After you are done with creating your playlist, click on the "Prepare Party" button at the top which will let you select a destination device or directory to copy all the files in the playlist.
- A new folder "Collection-ddMMyyyy-HH:mm" will be created in the selected device with all the audio files along with a playlist file (*.m3u)
Cut/copy/past/rename/create/delete files/directory in the files perspective
- Jajuk now allows direct operations on file like cut/copy/paste; delete; rename/create.
- You may now cut/copy/paste files and directories from one device to other through menu options.
- You may also delete files/directories from your hard disk from within Jajuk.
Others enhancements
- Search in tables now ignore word order to allow multi-tag searches
- Update manager : no more messages, now an icon at right-upper side of the screen if a new release is available
- Lyrics view improvements : a busy icon is displayed during search and several fixes
- New Russian langpack support
- Some modes used often are now available from the Modes menu (in addition to their previous locations in Preference view)
- Possibility to use file system time as the 'Discovery Date' of the file/track instead of using the time that file has been added
- New "Finish album" and "DJ" icons
- Perspective icons size is now configurable
New Features Highlights in Jajuk 1.4
Jajuk team is pleased to present this new major upgrade that intend to bring a better user experience thanks a deeply redesigned graphical interface and new online features like Lyrics, Webradios and Last.FM support. Jajuk 1.4 code-named Aerodynamic comes with tens of impovements and new features.
Sound engine
New supported audio formats
- Partial support for Monkey's Audio (.ape, .mac files)
- Support for MPEG-2 (.mp2 files), requires mplayer 1.0pre8 or later under Linux and Mac.

Interface
Brand new graphical user experience
- Jajuk now uses the Substance look and Feel that comes with many themes and watermarks.
- It is now possible to set a background picture of your choice (Preferences view / GUI tab)
Totally customizable interface
- Any view can now be added in any perspective. For example, you now can add the new "Lyrics" view in the perspective you wish.
- It is possible to add several times the same view in any perspective (can be useful, for example, to show at the same time a Cover view with the Album cover and another displaying author pictures)
- It is now possible to reset all perspectives to default views configuration by a single click
- All these features are available from the "Views" menu
Enhanced command bar
- Bigger and smarter toolbar icons
- New configurable "rate" button : easy way to increase the playing track rating. The step can be set from +1 to +10 points using the drop down button.
Simple perspective
- Many users reported Jajuk to be too complex with too many windows, the new default perspective is now the "Simple" perspective that only display tracks table and suggestions. It intends to make Jajuk friendlier for first time users not yet familiarized with perspective and views system.
New features
Last.FM support
- Support for audioscrobbing: when playing a track, the information is sent to Last.FM in order to feed your profile (Preferences view / Last.FM tab)
- Support to others albums from the same artists and similar authors list from the Suggestion view (see below)
Suggestion View
- Display Newest, Preferred* and Rarely listen albums from your collection to help you in selecting an album
- Display albums list fetched from LAST.FM: all albums for current played track and similar artists
- The albums you already own are displayed in bold and it is possible to launch them in a click
- From contextual menu, it is possible to open the Last.FM page in your default web browser
- Details over each album (including tracks list) and each artist (including album list) are displayed in a popup when mouse passes over items
Lyrics view
- A new "Lyrics" view (retracted by default in Files and Tracks perspectives) displays current playing track lyrics
- Contextual menu allow to copy to clipboard or to open in your browser the Lyrics page
Webradios support
- A single click launch web radio from command bar
- Jajuk comes with a list of default webradios
- Radios can be added or deleted using the webradio wizard
- Previous / Next buttons in command bar allow to switch quickly from a station to another
- Current played radio is remembered at next Jajuk startup
Catalog view enhancements
- Interface has been fully cleaned up
- Details Popup on mouse pass over
- Support drag and drop between album catalog view and others views (to launch an album for example)
- New sorting mode by discovery date
- Number of albums by page can be set (Preferences view / GUI tab / Catalog view preferences)
- New "Any" filter
Tracks tree view enhancements
- A new "discovery" filter allows to navigate into albums by discovery date (date when you got the album): less than one week, less than one month, less than 6 months and older
- A new "Year" filter allows to navigate by albums years
Reporting feature reviewed
- It is possible to get HTML or XML reports on any item (full collection, albums, artists, directories...)
- HTML reports are clearer, smaller and easy to navigate through
Workspace move
- It is now possible to set the place where Jajuk stores all collection data (indexes, ratings, thumbs, configuration...): set the new path in the preferences view / Advanced tab
- This new feature allow to make Jajuk transportable from one computer to another (by storing the Jajuk workspace on an external USB drive with Music itself for example)
Font manager
- It is now possible to set text size
Refreshing progress bar
- New dialog with progress bar when adding new device or doing manual refreshes
- Jajuk can continue to be used during refreshing (like before)
Show/hide unmounted tracks fast access
- The show unmounted tracks option is now available from the menu bar (in Modes). It allows to show or hide tracks that cannot be currently accessed.
Check for new releases
- Users are now informed of new Jajuk releases (can be disabled)
- It is possible to check manually new releases availability from Help menu
Others
- Jajuk 1.4 comes with many others smaller improvements, here is the detailed list
- Among them:
- Show/hide balloons option in tray
- Del key support in playlist editor view
- Quality agent now opens the Jajuk Trac page. Logs are automatically saved into the clipboard to ease the ticket creation
- New Shuffle mode (Global Shuffle drop down button in Command bar): Shuffle album by album (play full albums in random order)
- Better HTTP and SOCKS proxy support (especially for login based proxies)
